Learn to Scuba Dive with Divers Incorporated

The Divers Incorporated Essentials Program

Thank you for your interest in learning to scuba dive with Divers Incorporated. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re starting to explore what it really means to become a certified diver — and we’re glad you’re here.

Scuba training can look very different depending on where you go. While most dive centers follow the same agency standards, how those standards are delivered makes all the difference. Our goal isn’t just to certify divers. It’s to train confident, capable divers who we would genuinely enjoy diving with.

That mindset shapes everything we do.

How Scuba Certification Works

Becoming a certified scuba diver is a three-part process:

  1. Knowledge Development – Learning the principles of scuba diving

  2. Practical Application – Developing skills in a pool environment

  3. Open Water Dives – Applying those skills in real-world conditions

All scuba certifications follow this structure. Where dive centers differ is how they teach it.

At Divers Incorporated, we take a comprehensive, transparent approach. We explain everything up front, include what’s required in the cost of the program, and focus on producing divers who feel comfortable, capable, and confident — not rushed or underprepared.

Our Approach to Training

We use the PADI Open Water Diver program, the most recognized scuba certification in the world. Your training begins with PADI eLearning, which allows you to complete the academic portion of the course at your own pace on a computer or tablet.

Once the online learning is complete, you’ll move into the classroom and pool sessions. This is where our approach stands apart.

In the classroom, we focus on the difference between being certified and being a diver. We spend time on real-world awareness, dive planning, and environmental responsibility, including the PADI Project AWARE curriculum.

In the pool, our classes are intentionally small — limited to six students. This allows for individualized coaching, more time in the water, and a much higher comfort level as you learn essential skills. You won’t be rushed through drills or competing for instructor attention.

Open Water Training with Divers Incorporated

Once your pool training is complete, you’ll move into open water training with Divers Incorporated. These dives are where everything comes together — skills, awareness, buoyancy, and confidence.

Rather than rushing through the minimum required dives, we provide six open water dives, giving you more time to practice, refine your skills, and gain real experience in open water conditions.

During your open water dives, you’ll also receive additional training in:

  • Surface marker buoy (DSMB) use

  • Underwater navigation

  • Dive planning and situational awareness

Our goal is simple: when you finish, you should feel comfortable diving independently — not just technically certified.

What’s Included in the Essentials Package

One of the biggest differences with our program is transparency. There are no hidden costs, required add-ons, or surprise fees later in the course.

The Divers Incorporated Essentials Package includes:

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification

  • PADI Project AWARE certification

  • All eLearning materials

  • Pool and classroom training

  • Open water training dives

  • Mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves

  • Dive bag

  • Surface signaling device

  • Scuba equipment rental for pool and open water

  • Quarry or open water entry fees

  • Air fills

  • Two additional weekend equipment rentals after certification

Everything you need to complete your certification — and continue diving afterward — is included.

Equipment, Comfort, and Confidence

Scuba is an equipment-intensive activity, and comfort matters. That’s why we include properly fitted personal gear in your package instead of generic rental items.

If you’d like to own your own major equipment, we also offer upgrade options that allow you to build a complete kit tailored to your diving goals, comfort, and future plans.

The right equipment makes diving safer, more enjoyable, and something you’ll want to continue doing.

What This Program Is Really About

We don’t aim to create as many divers as possible.
We aim to create good divers.

Divers who understand what they’re doing.
Divers who respect the underwater world.
Divers who are confident enough to keep diving long after certification.

That’s why our program goes beyond the minimum standards. We train the way we would want to be trained — and the way we want our dive partners trained.

Ready to Get Started?

Because the academics are online, you can begin right away. Pool and open water sessions are scheduled regularly throughout the season, with flexible options based on conditions and availability.

If you have questions — and most people do — we’d love to talk with you.
