Factory Level Prism 2 Service
Rush service, included upgrades, and rentals are all available at Divers Incorporated with a little advance notice. Once we have your unit in hand, we can give you lead times that are more precise. We want your unit back to you with you diving it. If you are curious about rush service, give us a call at 734 971 7770.
When you send in your unit, we inspect, clean, and rebuild the unit to factory specifications. If there are parts that need replacing outside of normal annual service, our Factory Trained Service techs can take care of you. When sending in your unit, we do NOT need the BCD, stand, aftermarket accessories, backplate, cover, harness, or yoke unless you wish for us to inspect it and, in the case of the BCD or the cover, rebuild it. If you have both a DSV and a BOV, send both. The labor is included in the rebuilding of both units.
The annual service is a bit time-consuming. Since we are taking your unit apart, upgrades are available with no additional labor required. Most of the time at Divers Incorporated, the annual service can be completed in about 10 business days. Rush service is available if requested in advance. It is a common misconception that this service also includes new hardware such as cables, electronics, and solenoid assembly. These are NOT changed unless specifically requested or if a fault is found on the part. Since the unit is completely disassembled at this point, no additional labor is needed to make any requested changes. Many divers with older units typically request a replacement of the cables and the Solenoid since the unit is apart anyway. Unless moisture has entered the Head, electronics are not typically replaced.
If there is something found that does not pass inspection, you will be notified that changes need to be made. It will be assumed that you wish to have your unit returned to factory specifications. If a part needs to be replaced, we will notify you but there is really no choice in the matter. We are NOT able to reassemble the unit with parts that are questionable.
The five-year services are a bit time-consuming. Since we are taking your unit apart, upgrades are available with no additional labor required. Most of the time at Divers Incorporated, the annual service, including the five-year head service, can be completed in about 10 business days. If you are just having your head done (with your local dive center doing the rest of the Annual Service) it is most times able to be done sooner. The testing is extremely time-consuming but rush service is available if requested in advance. The list below outlines upgrades that are available with the Five Year Service.

The annual service requires that the technician change o-rings and fittings that are accessible from outside of the head of the unit. Since the rebreather is almost totally disassembled, certain parts can be changed without adding to the total labor cost. The attached sheets allow you to request these changes. The complete price list and service agreement are available at the link below. The request for service page allows you to itemize what you want to be replaced on the unit and the factory costs of the parts. Please make sure you tell us of any problems you may have had with the unit. Broken wires and disconnected internal mechanisms are not always easy to detect in pre-diagnostics.
The five-year service requires that the head of the unit is completely disassembled. Contrary to popular belief, NO PARTS OTHER THAN O-RINGS ARE CHANGED that are not also part of the annual service kit. We would be happy to discuss what you want to be done. There are over a dozen o-rings in the head and most are bulkhead fittings requiring pressure testing upon completion. This test is not necessary for the annual service. Since the head of the Prism 2 is totally disassembled, parts can be changed and upgrades done without adding to the total labor cost. The attached sheets allow you to request these changes.
